A Day in San Juan

Deron & I drove down to San Juan Capistrano today to see our friend Dailon get married. We met Dailon while working at Lowe's. She has become a dear friend of mine. She moved to Huntington Beach about 3 years ago, and I haven't been able to see her as much as I would like, so it was nice to see her today and for such a special reason. She met her new husband, Brandon, while working at Lowe's in Huntington Beach, and now their married. Another Lowe's love story for the books! It was a long drive down and back, but it was nice since it was just Deron & I. My parents watched Liam, and Deron & I got to spend some time together. Just getting time together to talk was nice. The day was beautiful. The clouds went away right when Dailon started walking down the aisle. The wedding was outside and was very pretty. We had the reception outside on a patio. Dailon looked beautiful! She is such a special person and deserved every moment of this special day. Here are some pictures. I coudln't get very many good ones because there was always someones head in the way!

A Nice Relaxing Day

Yesterday, Liam and I went to Victoria Gardens to see if I could find a dress for a wedding that we are going to tomorrow. While I had no luck with the dress, we had a nice relaxing day just walking around and enjoying the beautiful day. We went to baby Gap and got a lot of good deals. We even got a pair of pants for 1.97!!! We went to Hot Dog on a Stick and had some lunch. Then later on we went to Ben & Jerry's for some ice cream. And..... they had a new flavor, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl. I really hope they start selling it in the stores soon! Liam, of course, was a huge flirt all day. Girls would walk by and he would smile at them, then of course they would come over and talk to him. He loved it.

We also tried to eat applesauce again. Liam still made a face, but ate more than he normally does.

And this one is for Aunt Lisa. Liam was eating carrots, which he likes also, but he is wearing one of the bibs Aunt Lisa got him. Go Georgia!

Officer, I did what?

So I got a citation today. This is my first citation in 11 years. The first one I got when I was 16 and had had my license for about 2 weeks. It was for tailgating. I have also been pulled over because I had my front windows tinted on my bug that I drove years ago. Well, today I had to take Brittany to the Loma Linda Dental School to get something fixed on her braces, and on our way back to her school, we were going to stop at Baker's on the corner of Anderson & Redlands Blvd. The traffic was horrible, and as we were going through the Anderson/Redlands Blvd intersection, the traffic stopped, and we were stuck halfway out in the intersection. There were Sheriffs on the corner, and they walked out and asked myself and 3 other cars to pull into the Baker's parking lot. There they gave us all tickets for blocking the intersection. There apparently was some "sting" operation going on that day, and they were ticketing people blocking the intersections, and people who were not wearing seat belts. I was really irritated. Mainly because I wouldn't have driven through the intersection if I thought the car in front of me was stopping. They stopped abruptly, due to the traffic, and I really had no where else to go. That's just life I suppose. And here continues my streak of getting tickets for weird things. I don't get them for speeding, or driving recklessly. I get them for tailgating, have tint on my front windows, and blocking an intersection. Now I just have to wait for my ticket to process so I can pay for it, and take traffic school! What a way to spend a day off!

And the Winner is....

Sweet Potatoes! We finally found something that Liam likes to eat. He loves his rice cereal, but he did not really like the applesauce or the bananas. He would eat them, but he made a face everytime. And sometimes he would just shut his mouth and not eat them at all. This morning we started with Sweet Potatoes, and he loved them. He gladly opened his mouth wide each time he saw the spoon. Hopefully he will enjoy all the other veggies as much as he enjoys the sweet potatoes!

What a Little Trooper!

Liam had his 4 month well baby check-up today. He is now 17.9 lbs., 25 1/2" long, and his head is 17 1/2" around. He is getting big. He has almost doubled his birth weight! The doctor said he is developing very well, and she even said we could start giving him the 1st stage of solids. He was smiling and talking to the doctor a lot. Any bit of attention he gets, especially from the ladies, he just eats it up! Liam also had to get some more shots today :( This is the part of his appointments that I do not like. Last time he screamed so much, which is something he never does. This little guy hardly ever cries. So, I was getting myself ready for another episode of the screaming. But surprisingly, he only cried a little when they first gave him the shot. Then after it was done, he stopped. He was such a brave little guy. I am so proud of him. It probably helped that we had given him Tylenol before the doctor visit. He has been a little fussy throughout the day, and he only wanted to take a nap when I was holding him, but other than that, he is still his smiley little self.

Here are some random pictures that we have taken lately.

This is what most of today consisted of.... sleeping, and my new friend on the shot days.... Tylenol!

Liam has now grown out of his little shoes. He is wearing size 2 now!

And I think I have mentioned that Liam does not take good pictures with me... here are just a few examples of the lovely faces he makes when we are taking pictures together!

New Things

We have started to try giving Liam cereal. There really is not a clear answer on when your supposed to introduce cereal, but all the signs they tell you to look for, he is doing. Yesterday we started the rice cereal and he made a face each time he ate it. We only did about 5 spoon fulls, and then we stopped. But today, he opened that little mouth right up and ate more than he did yesterday. I think he likes that he is getting something different in his belly!

Liam also seems to have a new smile these days as well. He stared smiling a little differenty yesterday. Here are some pictures

My 1st Mothers Day!

I was so excited for this day. When I got up, I got cards and flowers from my boys. Deron had to work today, so we didn't get to spend all of it together. Liam and I went to church with my family, then back to their house to spend some time together. Then it was off to Grandpa & Grandma McCandless for a visit. We met Daddy there, then went to the Macaroni Grill for dinner with my family. It was nice to spend some time with the family.

On a sad note, yesterday my parents had to put down our dog Penny. She had been sick all week, and was not doing well. When they took her to the vet, she had a large, hard mass in her stomach area. It was really sad. We have had her for a long time. Then today, our other dog Heidi had to be taken to the vet as well. She has lost her hearing and she has some hip problems, but everything seemed to get worse last night after Penny was put down. She went outside to go to the bathroom, and on her way back in she just layed down, and couldn't move anymore. Plus, she is bleeding from a growth that she has. She seems so depressed. So as of right now, my Dad is on the way to the vet with Heidi to see what is going on. It's been a sad couple of days for our family. We've had both of these dogs for a long time, it's sad to see them go.

Precious Moments

Liam was sleeping so peacefully the other day, so I decided to take pictures of him that I normally would never be able to get. Hope you all enjoy!

And my favorites... his chunky legs, cute little behind and his little bald spot!

And a few of Angelica from yesturday:

Mmmmm, those feet look yummy!

I had said a few days a ago that Liam has found his feet, well now, he tries to suck on his feet! It's especially difficult when trying to change his diaper. But it is oh so cute! I was able to get a few pictures of him yesturday doing it. He also woke up yesturday with his first cold. I was sure he wasn't going to get one. Deron has had 2 colds since he was born and I have had one, and Liam didn't get sick any of those times. But I woke up yesturday to him coughing, sneezing and cooing. He is still smiling and talking, but you can tell he just isn't himself. Hopefully it will go away soon. He is having a hard time napping, which may be good for us at night since he slept for 10 hours lastnight!

Pics, Pics and More Pics

We haven't really done anything super eventful over the last week, but I did take a lot of pictures and wanted to share them with you all. Liam is talking (cooing) a lot now. He talked to me the entire ride to Rosa's house on Wednesday. He is such a happy baby. Even at 2am in the morning, he is smiling when I get to his crib to pick him up. Sometimes instead of crying when he wakes up, he is cooing. He found his voice and wants everyone to hear it. He also has seemed to have found his feet in the past few days as well.

Well here are some pictures that I took over the past week:
