6 Month Check-up

Today Liam had his 6 month check-up. He is now 27 1/4" long, or 2' 3.25". He weights 19.9 lbs, and his head is now 18.11" around. He is getting big! Today the doctor told us that we could start giving him some finger foods when he is in the high chair so he learns how to feed himself.

Here is what made today so hard. Normally, Liam does fine at the doctor. He cries for the shots, but smiles and the doctor and the nurse. Today, he did none of that, except for the crying. He has been very clingy lately. And when I have given him to people he doesn't really know, he freaks out and starts crying hysterically. Right after the doctor told me that by now he should be able to recognize who he does and doesn't know, and he should have some anxiety around people he doesn't know, he started screaming. The whole time the doctor was checking him, he screamed! Then he started the kind of crying where he is gasping for air because he is crying so much! I felt so bad. He just kept looking at me with those watery eyes, probably wondering why I wouldn't come pick him up. After the doctor left, I got him all calmed down, and the nurse comes in to give him his shots. Right when I laid him down on the table, he stated crying again, and continued through his shots. Poor little guy! At least we don't have to go again until he is 12 months old.

They put little stickers on their band aids this time. They look more fun!

Liam fell asleep right after the doctor visit, so when he woke up, we gave him a little treat. We gave him one of those biter biscuits to suck on. That thing was all over the place! He loved it though
