Yeah! The day is over! After a late shift at work today, I am officially on vacation until the 23rd. And it is a much needed vacation. Especially after this very strange week. Where do I begin... My parents dog had a seizure on Monday, so my Mom took her to the vet, and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. They just got her a few weeks ago, and she was an abandoned dog, so they don't really know much about her. But she seems to be doing well, and nothing has shown in any of her tests why she would have had a seizure. Then, on Wednesday I got a call from my Mom saying that my Dad was in the hospital and that something may be going on with his heart. Of course, I get off the phone and just started crying. Bad thing was, I was sitting in the front office at work where all the customers and associates could see me. So I had to close the door for a few minutes so I could compose myself. My Dad stayed in the hospital until today. They are not really sure what is happening with him, but they sent him home with a heart monitor. Also on Wednesday, my nephew Aidan went to the ER as well. I guess somehow the dogs collar got stuck on the chair that he was sitting on and when the dog moved, the chair went to, causing Aidan to fall out and he hit his chin on something. He had to get it stitched back together, and he was such a trooper. He was laughing and flirting with the nurses and didn't even cry when they were working on him. What a big boy.
I am ready for some time off. After that really long and wonderful maternity leave, it has seemed like forever since I have been on a vacation. My sister Lisa and her husband Matt flew in from Georgia yesterday and will be staying here until Wednesday. It's so nice to see them. We are all going to go out to eat tomorrow for my birthday at Ruby Tuesdays. One just opened up out here in San Bernardino and I have been wanting to try it!I hope that this coming week is a much better and more relaxed week. I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with the family.

Our First Beach Trip
On Sunday, Liam & I went down to visit my friend Natalie at Camp Pendleton. She had flown in from North Carolina to do some camping with her family. So we decided to go visit her. This was the first time that Natalie & Liam have met. And he loved her! He was laughing at her all day. This was also the first time that Liam has been to the beach. I took him down and put his feet in the water and he loved it. He would just stare out at the water. I put him down to stand on the sand and he started to do his little jumping thing that he does when he is in his jumper. It was cute! We also put to use our beach tent that we got for our wedding. That thing was great. Liam took a little nap in it and it kept the sun off of him all day. It was a nice relaxing day and it was nice to see Natalie again.

Finally! Some Relief!
I went to fill up the suv today and only had to pay $3.99 a gallon. I knew that gas was going down, but I didn't realize that it had finally gone below $4.00! Normally I put in between $58-$69 in my car to fill it up. Today I only put in $55.82! It may only be a few dollars in different, but it's a few dollars that we could use!

Yes, We are still here!
It's been a while, I know! I am usually fairly diligent about posting new blogs, but really, there hasn't been much too write about. We've kind of had a boring week. Liam is definitely trying to crawl. He pushes his legs up underneath him and kind of rocks back and forth. He will be very mobile very soon. And I thought he was already mobile enough! He is wearing size 9-12 months clothes now. And in fact, some of his 9 months jammies are getting too short in the legs, so we are having to go with 12 months for the most part. He is growing like a weed. This week he also said "MaMa" for the "first" time clearly. I have heard him say Mamamamama, but never really directed at me. On Wednesday when I was picking him up from my parents, I walked into the kitchen and he got a little upset and yelled "mama!" Since that day, he has been saying it everyday. Mostly when he is hungry or tired and cranky. When he is hungry, he usually pairs mama with baba and says, "Mama! Babababa." In fact, that is usually what I hear through the intercom when he wakes up.
I took a couple of picture today when we went to Red Robin. Liam used a high chair for the first time at a restaurant. He did ok for the most part. I think he had a little bit of a hard time since he is not used to sitting on his own for so long. He would lean forward and rest his chin on the table, or try to lean back, and his neck and head would just keep going. He also gently bumped his head on the table. So, after that, I took him out. I was glad, however, that I invested in a high chair cover, because the one that I was given was very sticky and gross!

The other day, Liam was laying on our bed playing while I was putting laundry away. When I turned around, I noticed that he had found something that didn't belong to him, and when I took the picture, he gave me this look like, Mom! you caught me!

Just a picture that I took today at church of Liam wearing Mom's sunglasses

My New Do!
6 Month Check-up
Today Liam had his 6 month check-up. He is now 27 1/4" long, or 2' 3.25". He weights 19.9 lbs, and his head is now 18.11" around. He is getting big! Today the doctor told us that we could start giving him some finger foods when he is in the high chair so he learns how to feed himself.
Here is what made today so hard. Normally, Liam does fine at the doctor. He cries for the shots, but smiles and the doctor and the nurse. Today, he did none of that, except for the crying. He has been very clingy lately. And when I have given him to people he doesn't really know, he freaks out and starts crying hysterically. Right after the doctor told me that by now he should be able to recognize who he does and doesn't know, and he should have some anxiety around people he doesn't know, he started screaming. The whole time the doctor was checking him, he screamed! Then he started the kind of crying where he is gasping for air because he is crying so much! I felt so bad. He just kept looking at me with those watery eyes, probably wondering why I wouldn't come pick him up. After the doctor left, I got him all calmed down, and the nurse comes in to give him his shots. Right when I laid him down on the table, he stated crying again, and continued through his shots. Poor little guy! At least we don't have to go again until he is 12 months old.
They put little stickers on their band aids this time. They look more fun!

Liam fell asleep right after the doctor visit, so when he woke up, we gave him a little treat. We gave him one of those biter biscuits to suck on. That thing was all over the place! He loved it though

6 Months Old, My How Time Flys!
I woke up this morning realizing that Liam is now 6 months old! What?!?!? Really? It does not feel like 6 months have gone by already. He is growing so fast! Often times I look at him and still can't believe that he is actually really here, and that he is ours. Our life was made so much better when God brought him into our lives. We can't even image our lives without him!

Here are some things that Liam is doing now:
*Eating stage 2 baby foods! (well some.... he doesn't like them all)
*Trying to drink from a sippy cup
*Loves to drink from Mom's water bottle
*Screaming!!!
*Says "baba" and yes, "mama"!
*Rolling over like a pro
*Almost sitting up completely on his own
*Puts his own pacifier in his mouth, in the right direction
*Holds his own bottle, until he gets too tired to hold it
*Pretty much sleeping through the night
*He knows how to get peoples attention!
*He sometimes dances with us when we sing and dance
*He plays little mimicking games that are too cute
*Starting to give little kisses, Liam kisses! He opens his whole mouth and sticks his tongue out. Nice and slobbery!
Today Deron & I were both off from work, so we decided to go to Ontario Mills and have lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Liam has yet to take this adventure. He just watched everything. The people, the monkeys, the elephants and the huge fish tanks. He loves to be around noise, and this place was noisy. We were seated right next to the large elephant and every time it raised it's trunk, I thought I was going to get hit in the head!

We put Liam in his Johnny Jumper the other day and he did really well, but he likes the jumper my parents have a lot better! So, we went to Babies R' Us today to look for a jumper, but the only one we liked is the same one my parents have. So we got it. Liam loves this thing. He is such a good jumper. It's quite funny because he goes kinda crazy with his jumping and he folds his toes under and bounces on his toes. It looks really painful, and his toes are really red when he is done :(.

As with growing up, Liam outgrew his first bathtub. So, we got him a new one where he can sit up in it. He has only taken 3 baths in it so far, but he seems to like it just as much as the other one!
